Appearance: Just under 5 and a half feet tall, short brown hair, grey eyes, with day old stubble on his chin. Athletic build with toned muscles and lightly tanned skin. He usually wears dark pants with lots of pockets and light shirts. He always wears black comfortable hiking boots and carries a travel pack.
~Other: He has a long scar down his left leg from a sword training accident when he was 9.

Personality: While slightly scatter brained, Darrell is a serious young man with a great sense of humour. Although he can get very emotional at times, tight control usually mask his emotions from others. Polite and caring, he is a modern gentleman, and also a closet pervert. Very few things will upset him, but boiling beneath the surface is a chained rage, ready to break through and devour everything in his path. He has a tendency to avoid doing things, if he thinks he can get away with it, but works very well under pressure. He goes after his enemies with a burning vengeance, and will give his life for his friends.

History/Background:
From the day he was born, Darrell has been able to see spirits. He learned early on to hide this ability from his parents, who seemed frightened by his 'halucinations'. However, he always found them interesting, feeling curiosity instead of fear, anger or disgust at the ways they died.

Raised as the rich son of a Canadian businessman, he was given the best of everything, but sheltered by his parents. When he was seven, he began training in martial arts, where he found a passion for swordsmanship, which he practiced every day, quickly becoming a master at all techniques he was taught. When he was eleven, his sensei gave him a sword, too big and too heavy for him to wield, which his sensei said he would grow into.

However, his happiness came to an end on his 12th birthday, when a Hollow attacked a freeway, causing a massive vehicle crash which claimed the lives of his parents. He was in the back seat, and he saw the monster tear into the car in front of them with horror, the first true fear he had ever felt gripping his heart so tight he could not draw enough breath to speak. He watched, his leg caught under part of the seat his mother had been sitting in, as a young woman in black attacked and killed the beast with a katana style japanese sword.

He felt that it would not be good if the woman noticed that he could see her, so he pretended to be unconcious until the rescue team pulled him and his parents' bodies from the wreckage of their vehicle, watching and memorizing the face of his savior from under his eyelids, as she watched over him.

After the 'accident', his mother's will revealed that he had been adopted as a baby, and that his birth mother and father lived in Vancouver. But when he searched, he found to his horror that his birth parents and his half-brother had also been among the victims of the crash that claimed his parent's lives, and as he was the last blood relative, he was the recipient of their sizable fortune.

Taking this as little comfort, he sold both houses, purchasing a smaller one in Victoria where he stored his things and would later use as a home when he returned from his travels, hired a tutor and began to travel the world, visiting many places, training with different sword fighting masters, and searching for the spirits of his family, never realising that they had already passed on to the other side.

Years later, at the age of 16, he acquired his highschool diploma. Thanking his tutor for staying with him for so many years, he finally set off on his own, still searching for his parents.

Many years later, after training hard and searching long, he heard rumours of places in Japan where strange things were taking place, and made Tokyo his next stop. From there, he traced the rumours and stories to a (relatively) small town called Karakura City...

As he approached, he felt as if his destiny was finally about to appear before him.
