Personality: Mitsukai appears most stoic and uncaring, never rising his voice even when angry, like emotion escapes him, his body seems to hold no since of pain not even flinting if a arm gets ripped off, he has a strange speech patten always calling himself 'This one' or some times boarding on almost robotic how ever this can change at times when he pulls up his 'hosts' personality to hide himself or blend in but this mask does not last long.

History/Background:

'I will hold destruction in my hands, I will cleanse this world of all suffering, all sadness, I will be the one to clean the slate of this worlds downwards spiral, we die only to be reborn again into a world that knows nothing but suffering.”

They where his last words known to the Shinigami, Mitsukai, no Hiryuu's history is one full of darkness and pain, but to know of Hiryuu you must first know of Mitsukai, two beings that where intertwined from birth yes destined to devourer the other, for you see Hiryuu was non other then Mitsukai's Zanpaktuo, most, if not all knowledge of the ill fatted Shinigami has been removed from the Soul Society's records and the ones who have fought against him or even worked under him are forbidden to speak his name.

Mitsukai was a good, hard-working Shinigami who after many years, and much hard work, became a captain, what Division he was in is unknown, scraped from the records like some coffee stained forum, years after his move to Captain he wanted to attain a new level with his zanpaktuo, for months he sealed himself away to train with his zanpaktuo, Hiryuu.

When he finally emerged he had gained the new level of power, but at a cost, Mitsukai had fused with his zanpaktuo, his appearance becoming more dragon-like, he was looked down on this but for the most part his mind was the same, his power was unbelievable with his new form and became, from what we know, a respected Shinigami among the ranks.

However he was hiding his pain well, from the point he fused with his zanpaktuo his life had been nothing but agony, he had become fully aware of his zanpaktuo's true form, every time he used his powers his soul would scream out in anguish, it felt like every time he fought a part of his soul would be devoured by Hiryuu, and the dragon becoming stronger inside him every time the Shinigami cried out in pain.

By the time his pain got to the point he could no longer hide it, it was far to late to help him, the agony in his body had grown to the point he could no longer move, everyone tried to help him but it was no good, even when the 4th Division captain could get him to sleep he still cried in pain, slowly his zanpaktuo devoured the Shinigami half of him.
Weeks after slipping into a pain driven coma his katana dissolved, they thought the shock of it all had finely killed him, but in the weeks he had been asleep he had been fighting a inner battle with his zanpaktuo, but it was no good, what was left of Mitsukai's soul being devoured by Hiryuu, thus the zanpaktuo became the master but in a strange twist of fate Hiryuu was made to suffer all the pain he had caused Mitsukai, the existent of such unbearable agony drove the dragon to the brink of insaneatey.

Mitsukai, now Hiryuu, awakened with a roar and attacked any that where near, in his own pain he had seen what he thought was the undeniable reality of the world around him, the circle of death and rebirth driven by pain and suffering, humans where born and with them brought pain into this world and then when they died they became hollows, brining even more suffering into this world.

The dragon wanted to make it all to stop.

He tried to destroy everything, using his Bankai and fleeing to the human world, humans could be made to suffer more easily, he would use the pain from the humans as a catalyst to flood the afterlife and throw the Soul Society in chaos, but the captains he use to call friends, showed up to stop him.

The fight was brutal and unforgiving but in the end the Shinigami got the upper hand, unwilling to kill him in some hope that they could bring back their friend they sealed away part of his powers, ending his Bankai, from there on they where able to seal him away into a statue on the edge of the town where he waits to someone to free him.
