Personality: Ryuujin suffers from Klazomania (an mental illness that causes him to shout rather then speak) but this comes and goes seemingly randomly, but it had more to do who is around him and is aggravated because of his horns (explained in appearance), as he thinks he is hearing voices in his head he feels like he has to speak up over them, because of this he hates augments even more so if its over small things. He can resist his will to shout but its normally not for long, shouting aside he is quite level headed and kind, he normally ignores any questions about his horns and will sharply pull away when anyone tries to touch them, they really are a secretive and sensitive subject for him.

He does however have a side that is more akin to a puppy dog then anything, liking nothing more then to power nap if he had the free time or read a good book, but always taking care of his duties first. He will never ask anything of his Division members that he would not be prepared to do himself, Ryuujin also enjoys the company of other captains but tents not to like mass of people and will avoid them when necessary.

Appearance: Ryuujin stands over 6ft tall with spiky black hair, grey eyes and a odd grin of his face, he has two dragon horns that sprout from behind his ears and curve around to point in front of his face, these horns are the cause of his Klazomania, even Ryuujin does not know why he has them (but this it had something to do with his zan). The horns cause traces of reiatsu to echo about in them, like the way nose does in a seashell, this sounds like hushed voices but they don’t say any clear words so its more like white noise that is being pumped into his head, the severity changes depending on who he is with (ie: captains who can control their reiatsu will not have as much effect then a low seat who let his leak all over the place)

His build is lean but muscular, suggesting that he is faster then strong, but it is the opposite. He has been known to lift incredible weight easily and wont bother dodging, when he knows both sword lengths are the same, but because of this fighting stile he body is littered with scars from both hollows and other Shinigami alike.

For clothes he wears the standard Shinigami uniform with the white captain’s jacket with no modifications, the only other thing he has is a gold clasp around his right horn.

History/Background: Ryuujin’s human life has long been forgotten to the point that he even questions that he had one. And for the most of the time he can remember of his life within Soul Society he had the two dragon horns that adorned his head, the energy always echoing around in them, turning them in to hushed voices that said nothing, it was almost maddening but Ryuujin always got a hold of himself, he was just seen as a mutated soul by others around him, and an aggressive one at that by the way he always shouted but they where wrong, Ryuujin was never aggressive it was just that he felt like he had to speak above the noise, not realising at that time he was the only one who could hear it.

Because of his horns he naturally stayed in the less populated areas of the Rukongai. Getting into fights just because of the way he looked, or because he seemed a bit aggressive and they wanted the first blow, but either way life became hard for him no matter where he went too, but all the fighting did prove one thing and that was that Ryuujin was blessed with a large amount of reiatsu. Hoping that he could make a better life for himself he joined the Shinigami academy, where it seemed to be more of the same, never melding well with the other students who found his horns something of a…. source of amusement. That started with the normal ‘can I touch them?’ till some of his upper-class men invented a game of shunpo’ing in front of him and placing something on them before shunpo’ing away.

Needless to say this was not something he liked at all. But still he endured everything, not saying much as he knew that he tented to aggravate people, but he was determent that despite his horns and Klazomania he could be a more skilful Shinigami then them, so he spent sleepless nights working on his showmanship by himself, this determination not going unnoticed by the captain of the 7th Division who slowly started to take a shine to the strange young man and who, after finding out about his Klazomania, sent him to the 4th Division who where able to help him control it somewhat, whilst he was by no means cured he found that he could at least enjoy short conversations with the few that where willing to talk to him.

When he left the academy he already had the reiatsu of a vice-captain, and he also came as no surprise when he was taken into the 7th Division. He quickly became the 3rd seat but did not change much after that, whilst his loyalty and strength in battle where unquotable no one wanted him for their vice-captain, not that he would of ever taken the offer anyway, Ryuujin had known about the sneaky help the 7th’s captain had given him over the years and felt indebted to him. But little did he know that his time in the Division was coming to an end.

The old Captain of the 5th Division had been promoted to the Zero Division and thus, the 5th was in need of another captain. Ryuujin was put forwards as one of the candidates ready for captaincy, whilst the lower seated Shinigami could not seem to get past his horns, the other captains saw the quality in his character and agreed with putting him forwards for captaincy, shocked and honoured at this, Ryuujin found himself sitting the captains test a week later and as the old saying goes ‘passed with flying colours’ and was promoted to the Captain of the 5th Division.

The sky seemed to twist for a moment before it ripped opened like a door, well this would seem more like a zipper, as the clear blue slid back reviling nothing but a deep blackness filled with a swirl of turbulent spirit particles, it was clear to see that it was a Garganta, the portal made by the Arrancar, unmasked hollows with Shinigami powers, to allow them to get from their home world to that of the living but this was different from the others, it was as bit and as stable as a portal cast by any other Arrancar but the clear difference was this one had formed vertical to the ground, not horizontal like one normally would. It was quite at first but then it got lowered, the settle ‘ahhhhh’ of someone falling, not long after the Garganta had opened fully did a form dressed in white come falling out of it, a hollow thud sounded out as the creator of the pathway landed on the pavement.

He had landed in a painful way, on his shoulders and upper back, his body dubbed over him to now his knees where up around his head, the growing of ‘oww’ could be heard after a moment, but as soon as the portal started the close the Arrancar was on his feet in a flash.

“DAMN YOU!! WORK LIKE A NORMAL GARGANTA!!”

He shouted at it, now that the arrancar was on his feet he could be clearly seen, the male hollow was tall with shot, messy orange hair, dressed in white with the remains of his hollow mask covering the top left side of his face, the red markings seemed to stand out on the fragment. Lanza gritted his teeth as the portal closed up, the sound it made seemed to mock him he could never get the exit of the portal to behave, always it would end up vertical and he would end up on his back… if he was lucky. A crack sounded out as he rolled his shoulders, no matter he had come here to bask in sunlight and take a long nap if he could, unfortenly the arrancar had been so engaged with the portal he failed to control he had yet to notice the two humans he landed near.
