Rive [Quincy] Empty
PostSubject: Rive [Quincy]   Rive [Quincy] Icon_minitimeThu Apr 30, 2009 3:12 am

Name :Rive (Pronounced “Reeve”) Rixe

Age : 17 (Visually)

Gender : Male

Height : 5'6"

Weight : 169lbs

Date of Birth : 11/06/???

Personality : What you see is what you get. Blunt and to the point, not one for sugarcoating or softening his tongue. He may come off as harsh and callous but for the most part he doesn’t intend to; though he is not above acting out in such ways. Quick thinking, calculating, and calm. Almost nothing breaks his cool exterior, although when such happens it’s more of a cold fury than rage-filled outburst. Rive disdains those who aren’t realistic. Naivety and irrationality are traits that grind on his nerves. Despite the way he seems, however, almost every Human bears compassion somewhere within their hearts, and he is no exception. Wary of beings who aren’t Human or have passed on. Yet anyone, from Arrancar to Vaizard, who proves themselves worthy of his trust will find themselves in possession of a loyal ally.

Likes: Training, entertainment/excitement, dancing, hanging out, quiet places.

Dislikes: Loud people, stupid people, whiny people, Sloppy Joes, mad scientists.

Appearance : Medium length, messy dark brown hair. Rive has Heterochromia, or multi-coloration of the eyes, in the form that his left iris is of an icy blue whilst his right is yellow-gold. At times, the sclera of his right eye will turn pitch black thus looking identical to that of a Vaizard. His complexion is a little pale, along with his hair being darker both contrast and compliment one another nicely. Rive possesses a lean, toned figure built more for agility and finesse than outright power, although he is fairly strong. As for attire, he wears the following: A slim fit long-sleeved black hoody with an upside down cross imprinted on the back, the cross itself is a light blue similar to the color of Reishi, whilst the cloth wrapped around it is crimson. Underneath is a white long sleeved shirt with a turned down collar, cut V-neck style to his mid-chest. On the lower half is a pair of relaxed fit South Pole jeans, very dark blue with the front and back of the legs faded. Standard black skate shoes with light blue soles. As far as accessories go he wears a silver, chain link necklace with (this) attached. Around his left wrist is a silver chain bracelet with a cross attached that hangs upside down. Finally, his back is covered in scars, and dead center along his spine is more of a tribal style cross which, similar to the trend, is upside down. It begins at the base of his neck and stops at his mid back.

Background:

Rive was born on a tempestuous Summer evening to a poor Japanese couple. He was born of average height and weight with no health abnormalities or defects. The parents, thrilled at the unproblematic childbirth, took their newborn son home after the standard checks had been made. However, the high of being a full-fledged family was short-lived as only a few months later Rive’s father was laid off from work due to a dwindling economy. Their situation gradually continued to deteriorate until they were reduced to rags. Knowing that supporting an infant would be impossible and wishing their child a shining future, the couple abandoned the child at a local riverside; too shamed to bring him to an orphanage. And so the child of only a few months was left under the cloak of night in a woven basket, bundled in blankets with naught but the sole family heirloom, an exquisitely crafted necklace, clutched in his tiny fist. Something far too precious to sell, yet something his parents felt obligated to leave him with. A parting gift to display their love for him.

Luckily the boy was not left alone for long, as well-off French widow had been out on a moonlit stroll, far too restless to sleep. Appalled at the mistreatment and abandoning of this small child, she took him from the riverside as her own. It was both a selfless act of kindness and a selfish one to fill the gaping void her deceased husband left behind with his passing. The boy was aptly dubbed “Rive”, which was French for the bank of a river.

And so Rive was given the life his parents had always desired for him, with exceptional schooling and exceptional living as well. His grades were solid and remained mostly within the A and B range, being a astute student whilst his “mother” a strict woman who permitted no room for slacking. But she was also warmhearted and thus it was a happy life to live.

The years flew by and Rive quickly grew into a polite, well-mannered young man, and quite handsome to boot. Sadly, it was around this age of puberty that strange qualities began to manifest within the teen. Phenomenon that had no explanation to the unaware seemed to follow him like a pack of hungry wolves.

And so, the simple life was brought to an abrupt, screeching halt.

It was a dark Fall night, the luminous pale orb in the sky shrouded by clouds. The stars themselves seemed to be in hiding as a fell, ominous wind swept across Karakura Town. Nothing stirred, not even a single Autumn leaf was shed from the trees. All was still.

Ripped from the clutches of slumber by a thunderous racket and sounds likened to gunshots coming from Rive’s room, the French widow frantically scrambled up the stairs and cast open the door only to find the window open, the drapes whipping wildly on the wind. There was blood splattered and smeared on the walls. The bed lay empty, and her child gone. Invisible to her eyes, a motionless man sit slumped against the wall, wrapped in black robes.

One month later, she was found hanging by the neck from the rafters of her own chambers, photos of both her late husband and beloved adopted child clutched in her cold fingers.

Kurotsuchi Mayuri’s Data Entry
August 13th

I am purely ecstatic. Recently there has been an uproar on the radar surveillance of Karakura Town caused by brief, massive bursts of Reiatsu. Finally I could bear the anticipation and curiosity clawing at my skin no longer and sent a squad out to investigate and bring back the source of this disturbance. Who would have thought it was from a Quincy, of all things! It appears one of the members I had sent out was even slain by this boy. This serves as nothing more than a demonstration of this subject’s power. The insect that was killed is of no consequence. The specimen’s memory has been completely wiped to prevent complications and hindrances to my research.

The Quincy will from here on out be referred to as Subject XIII.

This Quincy has indeed proved to be a delightful specimen. His Reiryoku capacity is leaps and bounds beyond that of a Human, even for a Quincy. I am pleased beside myself with the test results administered to ascertain his capabilities. Killing such a prize would be merely a waste of possible potential. I shall augment XIII to further increase his combat abilities and acquire myself a new pet...

The fruits of my research are beginning to appear. The Vaizard had given me an idea. If one could Hollowfy a Shinigami to give them enormous power, why not a Quincy? I have injected Hollow DNA into various organs of XIII after repeated trial and error on other specimens. All have died within moments, the longest being ten minutes and thirteen seconds. Subject XIII has been in an incapacitated state since the DNA was administered three hours, thirty three minutes, and sixteen seconds ago. Truly marvelous. I expect success and with it will contemplate breeding a small, elite group of Hybrids to carry out my bidding.

XIII has survived fifteen days after augmentation. Minor physical abnormalities have appeared. The cornea of his right eye has become pure black and his iris yellow, identical to that of a Hollow’s. A white substance erupted from the subject’s nostrils, mouth, and eyes before hardening and forming a Mask. However, immediately upon formation it cracked and disintegrated. combat exercises will be held to observe XIII’s growth in power. Improvements as of now have been increased Reiryoku capacity, agility, strength, and endurance. The fusion of both Human and Spiritual elements appears to have augmented the subject’s mortality, possibly halting the process of aging.

Curse the Quincy! I will not be satisfied until I have personally strangled every last breath from all survivors of that wretched clan. During training exercise 01, Subject XIII went berserk and proceeded to slaughter an entire squad of Shinigami from the 11th Division that I had borrowed. Though this was the objective I had set, the specimen continued to attack anything within sight. The scum had the nerve to attack me, his creator! To think such a lowly product of research could destroy my right arm. The subject proved too ferocious to kill without attracting unwanted attention and has been sealed away, once more his memories erased. I shall have the seal placed in Karakura Town and be done with the matter.

------------------------------------------------------------

A few centuries later the seal weakened, and Rive burst through a rip in the fabrics of time and space near the river passing through Karakura Town, sending all nearby screaming off in terror. The teen did not budge from where he stood for hours, completely bare except for the necklace he wore, watching the tranquil waters and gentle current like an empty shell. Something nagged and tugged at the back of his mind, something about standing at riverside awakened a thought. “R..i..ve...”The words slowly came out. Now he possessed two things: His Quincy Cross and a sense of identity. Day after day, fragments of memories returned until Rive at least possessed a general knowledge of the world, how to act, and what it meant to be a Quincy. From there, he took the basics and advanced them through private study, practically living at the local library.

The quest for his memories had begun...

(Note: The Hollow DNA does practically nothing except change the coloration of his right eye and increase his overall Reiatsu capacity/power-wise. Meaning no Masked Quincy, he’s still not a Vaizard.)

Specialties:
1. Swordsmanship (Shin said it would be added due to Seele Scheiders)
2. Hirenkyaku
3. Reishi Control
4. Endurance
5. Bow Proficiency
