Yamane Cadence (Super Human) Empty
PostSubject: Yamane Cadence (Super Human)   Yamane Cadence (Super Human) Icon_minitimeThu May 07, 2009 4:29 pm

Name: Yamane Cadence (Paks)

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Cadence has long black hair, which cascades to her lower back in small ringlets. Her eyes are narrow, hinting at an Asian heritage. Dark green colored they are generally dull. Her skin is pale but not palid, and smooth lacking any definite blemishes. Cadence is lithe, with wiry muscle and a slender build. Her body is flexible, able to contort into various challenging positions with ease and very nimble. She is quick in terms of reaction time, and extremely dexterous. Cadence wastes no extra energy with her movements, and is always graceful and fluid.

~Height: 5'6
~Other: -

Personality: Cadence is generally very calm, preferring to think things through before acting. However, she also has an incredible temper. At times, those two personality traits war with each other, but she tries to stay calm at all times. Cadence is skilled with masking her real emotions, and many times will act through several layers of pretend emotions. Her perpetual calm can be seen as cold, or uncaring, and some think her rather rude due to that. Usually she is a bit pessimistic and morbid, but Cadence likes to think of it as being realistic. Her instincts make up a major part of her personality and Cadence tends to fall back on viceral emotions when in stressful situations. Because of events in her past, Cadence sometimes acts in an anti-social manner, unable to connect with others or herself properly.

History: Cadence’s mother was a leading force in a small cult. While low in numbers the cult was gaining members quickly, mainly the mainstream castoff’s and rejects. Preaching a controlled Armageddon, brought on by the cults own ministrations, they dabbled in occult. It was a heady mix of drugs and charismatic words on retribution for those who had been wronged. Enough to keep members happily under the leaders thumb.

All that climaxed one night, while in the midst of an arcane ritual they somehow managed to open a portal to an alternate dimension. From that portal emerged what they would continue to refer to as a demon, and on that night Cadence was conceived.

So it was that Cadence grew, secluded amongst this destructive cult, and groomed as their tool for Armageddon. As if to confirm their conceptions, from an early age Cadence showed signs of a strange ability. Surely a demon’s ability. Black energy would lash out, lifting things up, or shattering objects and she could open dark portals, traveling through a realm of black energy among other things.

As Cadence grew, her powers became harder and harder to control. The Leader of the cult began to pay special attention to her, trying to mold her in his favor and attempting to mentor her in the use of her powers. He was but a human though, and no matter how learned, he couldn't help her gain control of her abilities. Still, Cadence was fiercely loyal towards the man, too young to understand the wrongness of her situation.

Eventually, as the members of the cult grew more and more radical, the law enforcement began to take interest in them. By that time though, the Leader had managed to find information on the actual occult, dipping into some great power. Cadence was still too young to do anything, but when the police tried to disband the group, they resisted and many people died, most of them on the other side. Heady with power now, the Leader took his followers and ran. The higher ups were called in to take care of what had once been a minor cult and was now a major security problem. The cult was disbanded, forcefully, many of the members dying in the process. Cadence stuck in the middle was captured after watching the massacre, her mother and the Leader imprisoned for their crimes. Somehow the government had found out about Cadence's "powers". They wanted to use them for themselves. She was seven.

Secreted away to a top-secret government program, Cadence began the second part of her life. The government wanted a tool, something they could use to help protect Japan. They didn't want a little girl, it was just a coincidence that Cadence happened to be a person. So they erased her memories of her life before, and then began training and experimenting. She was trained to be a weapon, nothing more, and trained by the best. Stripped of her humanity, Cadence lost even her name through the process.

After being properly "reeducated," she was used to help the government. Assassinations, undercover work, whatever they needed. This went on for a spell of time, until they noted the strange goings-on in Karakura Town. Since the government couldn't seem to get a proper handle on the situation, they decided to plant Cadence there to properly understand what it was that was going on.

RP Sample: (One of my last posts on BO)

Paks glanced up quickly as the greenery began to flourish, little flowers appearing from no where and blooming within seconds. She watched, committing to memory the pretty sight so that she could bring it up later.

Turning slightly, she glanced over at Lanza. In the beginning he had seemed strange, unknown. Fallon had talked about him like he was dangerous, and she had yet to see the whole eating humans thing so she wasn't sure if that had just been a joke or Fallon had really expected Lanza to eat someone. Okami had also made some sort of mention of him being the dangerous sort. Paks didn't know what to make of it, other than the fact that she had touched his mind and felt no malice. Surely someone who wished only to destroy and eat people would feel... evil? Or something like that. Malicious. And Lanza-san didn't. No instead he felt like a cat. Not the tigers or lions Fallon had talked of, but a house cat like the rest of them. He seemed nice, and there were definitely claws but he had yet to use them. Even his words seemed to add to that image, and Paks felt a curious amount of affection bubble up. If Lanza didn't want to leave the human world, she could understand that. There were other worlds, other realms which weren't all that nice. Paks knew that. Lanza's description of his own world implied that he was from one of them. He shouldn't be forced to return merely because his kin was the bad sort.

She smiled softly at the Arrancar before commenting softly, "Lanza-san... If you want to stay here... I'd like that."

Shifting back to watch the flowers from earlier and in turn Okami she heard everyone's agreements with the human/wolf's proposal. For a moment Paks was silent, thinking over her choices. She really liked this group. It was a surprising truth, but one nonetheless. She liked them more than she had ever liked anyone else she had met except perhaps her mother and that man, but they were no longer a part of her life, no longer able to be a part whereas these people were all here in front of her. It would be strange to protect humans, extremely strange. Her upbringing hadn't lent itself to that idea at all, creating something of a tangled mess. Still... Her mother and that man weren't here, and what could she do towards their goal alone? Paks wasn't even sure she still wanted to actually be a part of their goal anymore, as much as her mind shouted wrong wrong wrong at her.

Perhaps she could try. Try to look after humans. Even if her abilities wouldn't help in a combative sense, she could maybe be of some use with something else. Perhaps her mother and that man would understand if they came back. When they came back. It wasn't that she was forsaking their goal... She just couldn't work on it without them there to guide her. They would forgive her.

"I'd like to help. I'm not sure how much help I can really offer... But I would like to try."
