Koto [Superhuman] Empty
PostSubject: Koto [Superhuman]   Koto [Superhuman] Icon_minitimeSun May 31, 2009 2:44 am

Name: Koto [Real name: Namiya Sora (name meaning: Eternal Sky Palace)]

Age: 15 [looks to be around 18 or 19, however]

Gender: Female

Appearance: Koto is tall and thin, nearly unhealthily so, especially for her young age. She stands about 5'11", but weights in at only about 138 lbs. Her black hair is styled like in the picture below, she has dark blue-gray eyes, and she is absolutely never seen without her hat. Due to the fact that she doesn't really care, the woman who took her in usually dresses her, and thus she frequently finds herself in frilly dresses and clunky boots or shoes, usually in black and red. When she isn't being shoved into gothic lolita styled outfits, she usually wears an off-white turtle-neck sweater with a knee length black jacket over top, black pants, and black boots. She always has a pair of black gloves on, no matter what her outfit looks like, and she never wears anything that exposes her feet. The reason for this is explained in her power.
Spoiler:
Personality: Koto is quiet and seemingly uncaring. For unknown reasons, she claims that she wants to disappear, but at the same time, she is obsessed with life, which is quite contradictory to the rest of her personality. She has a tendency to refer to herself as "meiwaku no shinigami", meaning "troublesome death god". Despite what others may tell her, she believes this as true, thinking she only causes trouble for those that she is associated with. She doesn't understand the meaning of friendship, family, kindness, or love due to the way she was treated as a child, constantly being told that she was a freak of nature who should never have been born, or that it would be wonderful if she disappeared. As such she distances herself from people. She is lonely without really understanding her feelings, and it bothers her when people are kind to her, often rejecting that kindness.

In a fight, Koto will use her power seemingly haphazardly, uncaring if she dies or not because of it's use. She will usually follow orders when given them, but at times, if she is too tired or doesn't want to hurt a specific person, she will refuse.

History: Namiya Sora was born in a quiet district at the edge of Kyoto. As she grew, it became obvious that she was different from everyone else. At five years of age she was a little taller than normal, and almost unhealthily thin. People became worried that Sora was being mistreated, and child services were called in. However, nothing was discovered to be wrong with the young girl. She had a healthy appetite, and, though quiet, didn't seem to be unhappy. Sora's skinny body was assumed to be a high metabolism and a recent growth spurt, and so she was left with her parents. However, the child care worker had been wrong. The abuse Sora suffered wasn't physical, but mental. Her parents, while having been loving at first, had started the mental abuse after the young girl began showing signs of being different. The continually told her that "it would have been better if she had never been born" or that "it would be good if she would just disappeared."

Several years passed of this, and eventually, Sora couldn't take anymore. At thirteen, with the appearance of an fifteen-year-old, for the first time, Sora lifted her hand, pointing at her father... For the first time, she shoot a piece of her life, and for the first time, she killed someone. And in the case of all three, it wouldn't be the last.

Not knowing what was going on, Sora panicked, retreating from the body. There was no blood... no outer sign of physical damage, and yet, her father lay dead on the floor. It was at that moment that her mother returned home. Of course, the woman who hated her daughter freaked out, lashing out at Sora for her husband's death, which was, in the long run, his own fault. It took half an hour of the horrible beating that took place before Sora snapped again, killing her mother in the same manner that she killed her father. [Autopsy would later reveal the cause of death being the heart and lungs being totally obliterated.]

Sora fled, taking refuge in an abandoned temple at the edge of town. She cleaned the place up enough to be livable, then stayed there, stealing food whenever she absolutely needed to eat, and getting drinking water from a nearby school.

She stayed that way for nearly half a year before a writer/photographer for a magazine showed up at the temple. She was doing an article on old shrines for a magazine based in Karakura City, and had gone to the temple to find a girl living there. Without question, she decided to take the half starved girl in uncaring of her dirty clothing and ill fitting clothing.

The woman introduced herself as Itou Yuuki, but didn't get any reply when she asked for Sora's name. Shrugging it off for the time being, thinking that the long haired girl was mute, she took Sora home to Karakura.

After a few days, she decided that her charge not having a name was inconvenient, and thus, set about trying to think of one. after about ten minutes, her thoughts strayed to the cat that she'd picked up a few months previous. She'd named it Koto, but it had vanished. Thinking the name stupid for a human girl, she was about to toss it aside. However, it seemed that the girl was ready to speak. The softly repeated name caused Yuuki to do a double take. The name stuck, and after that, the newly renamed girl became a little more open with her benefactor.

It wasn't long before Yuuki would become aware of Koto's unusual power. Five months after she'd taken Koto home, the younger went through one a painful growth, aging to look about seventeen or eighteen-years-old. Yuuki was shocked, but took it in stride, feeding Koto as much as she could handle in order to get her to a more healthy weight, even though Koto had always been unhealthily thin.

Shortly after that, Yuuki took Koto out to get new clothing, since the girl had, in three days, outgrown all the clothing she'd had previously. It was on the way home from the trip that Yuuki would find out just how different Koto was. They were three blocks from their home, when a group of men appeared, surrounding Yuuki and Koto. Their intent was obvious. In one of her rare shows of emotion, Koto flipped, using her power wildly. Blood spewed from deep wounds and shallow wounds, creating puddles on the ground at their feet. Every last one of the men was dead or dying.

Yuuki didn't understand, but she knew it was Koto that had killed them. Being spiritually aware, she'd seen small, blue shots flying from Koto's index finger. Wherever the shots had struck, blood went flying. It was also clear to Yuuki that Koto was exhausted, after using her power. She grabbed the black-haired girl's hand, then pulled her away from the blood, taking her home. Once they got home, Yuuki cut Koto's hair, throwing the clippings into the fire, as well as the clothing and shoes they'd been wearing, the only evidence that the two of them had even been at the scene.

Koto was shocked by Yuuki's reaction, having figured that the elder would have rejected her existence after that. However, she accepted Koto as she was, and continued to care for her. After that, Koto talked to Yuuki a bit more, though she still kept her distance, secretly scared that Yuuki would eventually reject her like her parents had.

Time passed, and Yuuki became more comfortable with Koto, actually feeling safe and protected in her apartment with the younger girl there to protect her, something that Koto seemed more than willing to do, though she tended to come in and out, rather like a stray cat would come to a human for food. A full year has passed in this fashion, and both Yuuki and Koto have established a working routine. Koto would leave, come back exhausted, hungry, and sometimes even sick, and Yuuki would take care of her, nursing her back to health if sick, and the cycle would repeat itself. Yuuki never asks Koto where she goes, and Koto never tells her, though Yuuki has a feeling that Koto would tell if she was asked.
