Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeThu Jun 04, 2009 7:09 am

Midnight, on the northern fringes of Tokyo, wasn't nearly as dark as it should have been. The massive city gave off a vibrant glow, one that blanketed the sky, and hid the stars. But the city's own glow wasn't what blotted out the sky on this particular night. This occasion was different. The clouds reflected a crimson strobe, frequent, low hums filling the streets and alleyways. To most, the world was at peace, and the general populous slept well. However, to a select few, the gifted, and the dead, a scene of chaos unfolded. The city was under attack. Giant, shadowy figures wandered about, aimlessly, screaming with the agony of an empty belly. Atop a black cloak, rested a white mask, open mouths bearing a multitude of wicked teeth. Blood red beams erupted from the gaping jaws, splitting clouds in half, creating massive holes in the asphalt, turning parked cars into nothing more than brightly colored dust. It would seem that this invasion, invisible to most, would lead to mass devastation. Who could stand up against such monsters?

The roar of a jet engine interrupted the low hums, screaming toward the giants at alarming speeds. Were one's eyes able to move faster than the source of the sound, they would notice a man, with brown hair, and a white shirt, riding a sleek, silver motorcycle. Massive flares of golden light trailed behind, flames to the rocket's engines. If those same eyes were gifted enough to see the world of the dead, they would also notice that the lower half of this man's face was shielded by a white mask, very much alike to the ones that the army of giants wore. While his right hand grasped the handlebars of his vehicle, the left was wrapped around a silver object, a rectangular blade emitting from it with a golden glow. At his hip, was a collection of these objects, numbering nine, ten total, if one were to include the one in hand.

As time would seem to slow for this fictional onlooker, the bike swiftly ducked under a stomping foot, which was promptly removed from the ankle that connected it to the rest of the giant, by the man's golden blade. The cloaked beast toppled over, slamming onto the asphalt, digging itself into the street as it scattered dust and rubble onto the nearby buildings. The mounted fighter continued onward, to the next giant, he swung at another falling foot, missing barely. Not wasting a single millisecond, he vanished, and the vehicle with him. Suddenly, the motorcycle was above the monster, quickly falling down upon it. Driving his golden blade downward, the man managed to slice the giant's white mask in two. The wheels made contact with solid ground again, amidst a cloud of strange dust, that had once been a cloaked giant. The bike remained unmoved this time, the rider's foot planted firmly on the ground as he surveyed the remainder of the invasion.

It had been a relatively quiet night. He'd been making his rounds about the city, only to have stumbled upon the horrific scene. This was all too strange. Including the one he'd just slain, there were at least thirty of these creatures, perhaps even more. Their number was only one strange factor, though. Another was their location. Why were they in northern Tokyo? Were this the opposite end of the city, near Karakura, this wouldn't be nearly as odd. These days, it seemed that everything bad wanted a piece of that town, literally. His best guess, was that this force had a specific purpose. Whether it be as a distraction, keeping the city's defenders occupied while the main force was free to attack Karakura, or if they were on a mission to take as much of Tokyo with them, as they marched south, they needed to be stopped. Lives were in danger, and this lone man seemed the only one capable of halting them.

The engines to his rear emitted a low whistle, the golden flares reduced to the size of the blade in his hand. His analysis was interrupted by a low hum from the rear flank. Looking over his shoulder, the masked rider witnessed a blast of crimson energy sailing through the air, aimed directly for him. It's origin was the fallen giant, the one without a foot. With an audible sigh, the man threw the throttle. His foot still firmly planted on the ground, a collection of golden energy collected around it, spirit particles to keep it in place. The motorcycle sped forward, but swinging around in a circle, the anchored foot as a pivot point. As it circled, it turned sideways, flattening itself against the ground, daring to scrape the silver paint on the asphalt. Following suit, the rider ducked down, letting the red beam pass overhead by mere inches. It took only a second to miss, crashing into the face of a corporate building, and blowing a rather large hole in it. Danger avoided, the rider released his anchored foot, flinging himself at the beast that had launched the attack. The momentum he'd gathered in his circles, was dispersed in the form of a thick, black streak on the street. The tires would probably need repairing again. Reaching the guilty, white mask within milliseconds, the golden blade was driven into it, continuing into the ground beyond. The giant instantly exploded into a mass of particles as the bike made one last circle, pivoting around the golden blade stuck in the asphalt, and coming to a stop, facing the direction it had just come from. Another sigh escaped from behind the rider's own white mask as he took note of the still marching army of giants. This was going to be a long night.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeSun Jun 07, 2009 1:30 pm

A dim white light would of gone largely un-noticed, covered up by the city’s own unyielding glow and party far to high up to catch anyone’s attention, even anyone who happened to be watching the sky would of failed to see this gateway into another world, very few seemed to have the ‘eyes’ at this part of Japan compared to other spiritually rich lands that his race watched over. A figure drenched in light seemed to fall from the opening in the sky, as the residual glow that seemed to cling to him fell away his form became clear. A tall male dressed in a jet black hakama seemed to be in free fall, a white haori fanned out around him seemed to almost look like white wings when viewed from a distance. Ryuujin Shirosaki, Shinigami and Captain of the 5th Division, slowly opened his dark eyes, taking in everything from his upside-down prospective.

It had been a long time since he had been to the human world, the roar of the wind flowing past him, the sharp sound of his haori flowing in the wind, the neon glow of the city was amazing to him, after all he had not seen anything like it before, but the large black pillar-like figures that towered above the sleeping metropolises where a blight to anyone’s eyes. The dragon horned man stretched his right hand out in front of him, collecting spirit particles around it to the point it looked like dust was flowing around it, clenching his fist he freefall came to an abrupt stop like he had just grabbed an invisible ledge, grunting with the sudden jolt to his right shoulder as his body swung around so now he was up the right way, his back now to the area he was just viewing. The sight behind him was not any better, Menos where doted around like weeds in a garden, plates of white placed on high their towering forms, masks, and two red dots in the eye hollows portrayed their eyes.

Letting go of his ledge the Shinigami seemed to float down to the pavement below, a whirl of wind coming from around him like it was aiding his decent. A small jet black butterfly finally caught up with him, the dark haired male’s guide and messenger for this trip, “Go back to Kageoni-Sotaichou, tell him that there is unnaturally high levels of Menos activity in Tokyo,” he stopped quickly glancing around to count, “there are at least 30 that I can see.” The butterfly quickly flew off, back to its home world as the Shinigami reached up to take hold of the long black katana that was attacked to his back.

Hocking a finger under the guard he gave it one sharp flick, sliding the blade cleanly from its sheath before grabbing the weapon by its edge between his middle and index fingers before letting his grip go on it, causing it to fall till the hilt was in line with his hand where he snapped his hand around it, holding it tightly. However his appearance had not gone unnoticed by the giants, one of them turning slowly towards him, Ryuujin expected a cero to be fired from the beast but instead it lifted one of its feet to try and step on him, how foolish. The captain simply put his hand up, blocking the foot dead in its tracks no matter how hard the hollow tried, it was like he was nothing but a child to the dragon horned male, Ryuujin slowed as he pointed his other hand towards its heel.

“Hado #4, Byakurai!” he muttered.

Because of the angle of the attack the lightning Kido blasted through the hollows heel, up its shin and burst through its knee, totally destroying the leg from the joint down. The hollow roared in pain, alerting more of its kin to Ryuujin’s arrival, unable to balance on one leg the monster started to tumble backwards, shunpo’ing behind the beast he moved his arm in a quick ark, so fast that even light did not have a chance to glisten upon the blades edge as it severed the Hollow’s head from its body, the black and white form disintegrating before it could fall and cause any more damage.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeMon Jun 08, 2009 2:53 pm

Another white gate opened up high among the clouds, not wanting to draw unwanted attention from the towering beasts below. A tall, thin woman stepped out from the heavenly glow, however unlike the male that came before her she did not fall, lately walking on the air, the wind picking up and playing with her silver hair, her wolf ears where pricked up trying to pick out any key sound that where around, but it all seemed to be merged into one mass of Ceros ripping through the air but there was an undertone of something, almost like a roar, an engine of some kind? It was hard for her to tell being as she had not been here for over 500 years.

Ignoring the colours of the supposable sleeping city Toboe darted off, the gate to Soul Society closing behind her. Her slender fingers wrapped around the short blade at her side, the green and brown segments of cloth fluttering madly like they were caught in a storm, she unsheathed the slightly fanglike blade, quickly throwing it towards the nearest Hollow, “Run, Shin'ei no Shinrin!” she yelled as it left her grasp.

The blades formed became nothing more than a mass of jade green light, ribbons of it burst from the glowing core as the zanpaktuo reformed into its Shikai form, the green mass hitting the Menos head on, splitting its mask in two, killing it before the hollow had a change to react. The glowing mass landed on a rooftop behind the defeated Menos, its form refining in shape, a wolf with fur of silver and bronze stood there, its mane and tail a mix of fur, twigs and leave all coloured the same array of silvers and bronze like a forest in fall, in a flash it moved again with speed akin to a melee orientated captain, launching itself at another hollow its jaws sunk deep into the beast’s mask, defeating it before moving on to another.

Meanwhile Toboe was looking about for the Shinigami that was sent before her, she could feel him but could not see him.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeTue Jun 09, 2009 9:35 pm

Company? Two new Reiatsu signatures suddenly appeared on the scene. Fortunately for the masked man, they were Shinigami, judging by the feel of them. So, reinforcements, then? Not likely. It was probably a recon mission, sparked by the mass disturbance that these giants had surely caused. It was very likely, that they had no idea that the rider had beaten them to the punch. Still, so long as they didn't begin concentrating fire on him, he'd consider them allies. Three on thirty was a lot better than one. Though, now it was more like three on twenty-five, give or take. The newcomers had already taken out a giant each. They were too flashy, he thought. One had used a Zanpaktou, that seemed to at least emit, if not be comprised of, green light. He didn't get a good view, so a faint glow was all he had to go by. The other had used Kidou. Both were quite effective methods of killing Hollow, but were also sure to bring more attention to the user. With a shrug, the masked rider withdrew his golden blade from the concrete it had been embedded in, used as a pivot. The more the enemy focused on them, the easier his job became.

Revving the engine, the golden flares behind the bike grew, and at an alarming rate. The rear tire spun ferociously, squealing as smoke erupted from the friction between it and the pavement. He'd already picked out his next targets. Two of the cloaked giants stood before him, one directly behind the other. The one in front stared at him, an open maw, glowing a deep red, while the second seemed to have its focus elsewhere. Suddenly, a crimson beam shot forth, and the rider was gone, speeding toward the beast who'd fired. Again, he darted between two massive legs, chopping off a foot. Before he was clear, however, he swung his golden edge around to the opposite site, removing the second foot. The injured giant's shadow began stretching out before him. It was falling backward, as planned.

In an instant, the masked man, and his motorcycle, vanished. He was now just above the toppling creature, landing on its abdomen. Giving the vehicle more throttle, he began ascending the quickly falling beast, dragging his glowing weapon behind, through the black cloak. The rider drove onto the white mask, his golden blade cutting a trail to the path he'd taken, and splitting it in half. At the last second, he let go of the handle, the engine changing from a high pitched roar, to a low pitched hum. Behind, and beneath, the giant burst into millions of spirit particles, fuel, in this case.

Throwing the throttle, suddenly, as far as it would go, the bike's golden tail exploded into an enormous flare, shaking the air itself with a sonic boom. The dust that had, until recently, been a giant Hollow was sucked into the vehicle's engine, giving it a massive surplus of fuel. As a result, the bike, and its rider, shot through the air, faster than the very sound that it made, toward the second target. With the golden blade held out, to his side, the masked fighter passed the giant by. In the process, though, he made sure that its neck was in the weapon's path. It sliced through with such speed, that one would have though he had missed, at first. The beast let out a horrific scream, a crimson orb collection in it gaping mouth. The rider managed to turn himself sideways in the air, and came to a skidding halt atop a hotel, watching as the sound waves he'd generated caught up to him. With a rush of pure force, a mighty blast slammed into the giant. As it did so, the creature's head tumbled off, and the dust that it suddenly became was carried away by the stream of the blow.

By the time this sonic boom reached the rider, it was capable of no more than blowing his hair from his eyes, and ruffling his clothes. Perhaps he should have given the Shinigami some slack. That maneuver was a bit more flashy than what they'd done. He took a brief pause, catching his breath as the engine dulled back to a low hum. Traveling through the sound barrier had a way of knocking the breath out of a person.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeThu Jun 11, 2009 12:41 pm

Ryuujin noted the green glow and appearance of another Shinigami, but he could not tell who it was from just that, his head began to pound with all the reaitsu floating around, damn his horns, why did they have to act up now? A roar sounded out, almost melted into the jet engine that was fireing somewhere nearby, a normal hollow charging at the captain, such foodlessness, even the menos could not stand up against him then this thing had no hope in the 9 hells. Placing a hand on top of its head Ryuujin lifted his own body up into the air, driving the tip of his zanpakuto into the base of its skull, the hollows form melting into dust and allowing the Shinigami to fall to the ground, bending his elbow slightly to absorbed the impact Ryuujin swung his legs around, his heel connecting with another hollow’s mask, the sharp sound of bone splitting sounded out as its masked cracked from the blow.

Bending his elbow a bit more to lower his chest to the ground he brought his blade around and up to his right, sparks flying as the tip was dragged along the ground before cutting deep into a hollows leg, blood spraying out as the blade passed through flesh, artery and bone alike, up its leg into its hip and following on into its admen. Using the momentum of his kick he span himself onto a crouching possession, as the one hollow feel down, bleeding to death as he clawed at its barely attached leg, another one came into view, slashing upwards that hollow soon felt the sharp bite of the captain’s zanpakuto as it passé through the beasts pelvic, going to through its body as Ryuujin got to his feet whilst continuing the attack to split the hollow in two. Turning the blade around in his hand, so the blade pointed behind him, thrusting it over his shoulder and into a head of another hollow who thought he could sneak up behind him and take a bite out of the captain’s shoulder.

This was not getting him anywhere, damn small fry! The hollow blood felt red hot on his skin as it seeped through his cloths, staining his once white haori dark crimson, striating his sword arm out to the side, flicking blood from the silvered blade, a strange smile creeping onto his face that one would link to minor bloodlust, “Scratch! Akakoneko!” he snarled calling his zanpaktuo’s name. The katana glowed a light red as it shifted form, the guards melting away, the blade lengthening and curving slightly turning from a silver to a matt red, another blade forming on the other end of the handle identical to the first, but only the blades edge was fasting the other way, this shape made it perfect for what he had planned. Pulling his arm back he aimed for a Treo of Menos, the dragon horned captain smirked as his arm snapped forwards throwing the zanpakuto like a boomerang, the blade fling like a propeller, cleaving down the three menos with ease before returning to its owners hand.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeFri Jun 12, 2009 11:15 pm

It was times like these, that he was thankful to have assistance. The trick he'd pulled was effective, but it temporarily took him out of the fight. Taking his moment to recuperate, the masked rider took inventory. Twenty-three Menos left. Scratch that. Twenty Memos left. As he was in the process of counting, three of the cloaked giants were cut down by what looked like a red boomerang. He followed the weapon with his eyes, as it swung back around toward its owner. Standing atop the building, which had at least ten stories, he had a decent view of the surroundings. Even so, the weapon vanished behind an even taller building. It would seem that he couldn't quite get a glimpse of the helpful Shinigami. Hopefully, they would stick around long enough after the fight, for him to offer a proper thanks.

A shrill roar filled the air behind him, the sound of a hungry Hollow. Looking over his shoulder, he noticed the long nosed, white mask. Yellow orbs glared at him through slits that were supposed to be for the eyes. But, glare was all the beast had a chance to do. Within the span of a single second, the rider flung his golden blade at the bone mask, vanishing from the seat of his bike. When he reappeared, he was standing on the giant's forehead, catching his weapon as it sliced into the white shield. Letting himself fall from his perch on the enemy, he let the blade drag behind himself. By the time his feet landed on the hotel's ledge, the creature's face was sliced in half, and it promptly disintegrated.

Walking back to his still rumbling vehicle, he placed his hand on a small, silver circle, raised slightly, and with a slit through its middle. When he pulled his hand away, the motorcycle stopped, turning off. He decided that it would be faster to take these things out on his own. And, on top of this building, his bike should be safe from theft. Not that he was worried about that. He was the only one who could make it run, to his knowledge, anyway. This was because he was a Quincy, the only intended rider for the vehicle. It would be feasible that any Quincy could force the object to move, but he had yet to meet another. Thus, as far as he was concerned, it was as good as safe. If someone wanted to steal it, they'd have to carry nearly half a ton of silver and steel down ten stories. There weren't many people who were up for that kind of a challenge.

With the golden blade in his right hand, he stepped on the ledge again, overlooking the street below. The number of invading Hollow was dropping steadily, and relatively quickly, but not quickly enough. Another five minutes, and this section of the city would be reduced to ash and rubble. He'd have to start taking more drastic measures. A golden flash enveloped his left wrist. From the flash, a translucent serpent head struck forward, engulfing his hand. The mouth was still open, as though it were still lashing out, to strike its prey. Two enlarged fangs bore, curling between his fingers, one between the index and middle, the other, the middle and ring. The masked man curled his fingers slightly as well, almost as if to add to the serpent's number of fangs. The reptile's tail slithered backward, coiling around the forearm, then the elbow, finally tightening around his bicep. Fafnir, named after the serpent son of Loki, the Norse God of chaos, seemed to hiss with the vibrant, golden energy that collected in its throat, against the Quincy's palm. Surveying the enemy positions one last time, he stepped off the ledge, plummeting toward the street below.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeSat Jun 13, 2009 1:18 pm

(sorry for the shortness, was stuck on what to do ><)

Ryuujin jumped onto the tall building nearest to him, clearing its 3 floors of height in one leap, effetely he leapt from rooftop to rooftop like they where nothing more then stepping stones over a small stream. His eyes locked on to the closest target, the hollow had its back to the Shinigami but the red glow that was currently growing was enough to alert Ryuujin to what it was doing, if he killed it now the gathering Cero could easily discharge and potentially destroy the block, but luckily he had an idea. Leaping onto its back he drove one of the blades into the back of its skull at an angle, holding back as to not kill it just yet.

Putting all his weight on the blade he was able to twist the Hollow’s head around, the Cero not being fired into the town but instead being fired up into the air, disappearing harmlessly up into the clouds. Twisting the blade he drove it deeper into the hollows skull, the crimson tinted metal disappearing up to the hilt as the hollow thrashed about, increasing the damage it was doing to itself, Ryuujin pulled the blade free with a roar, blood flowing from the gaping wound, over the blade and down his arm, planting both feet on its back he kicked off as the beast faded into nothing.

A smirk pulled at his lips as he landed safely on another roof top, he glanced down at his right arm that was drenched in hollow blood, it was thick on his skin and cloths. He lifted his hand to get a better look, the voice’s in his head sound like a white wash of noise now, he don’t know why he was going to do it, but he wanted to lick some of the blood from his hand.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeSat Jun 13, 2009 5:31 pm

The Cero fired off into the air could have only been one thing, Ryuujin, Toboe’s ears twitched lightly as she picked out the sounds of the engine once more, it was echoing about so for her it was hard to pin point it, but seeing as it seemed to be the only automobile in the near vicinity, well the only one running that is. The sharp crash of concrete falling to the road below alerted her to the chaos behind her, another Menos stepping out of a portal, was this a new one or old of the others just changing location? Really it did not matter the fact it was here now and she had to make it go away, standing sideways on to the hollow as its eyes pined her down she stretched out her right hand, pointing her index and middle fingers at it, her wolf ears pushed back and her face set in a soft scowl.

“Hado #4: Byakurai!” she said as a white light gathered at her fingertips before shooting out, the white lightning hitting the monsters masked face right between the eyes, its dark form turning into spirit particles. With the first hollow gone two more came into view, one had its back to her, the other was side on, she held out her palm keeping her eyes locked onto the two dark towers, “Hado # 73: Sōren Sōkatsui!” a light blue fire ball gathered above her palm, before shooting out and splitting into two, screaming across the night like two comets before crashing into the hollows, vaporising them. Her ears priced up once more, turning her attention to where Ryuujin was, bending her legs slightly she was able to clear the distance in one leap, landing only a few passes away from the 5th captain.

Her eyes widened slightly as she saw what he was going to do, without a second through she coved that distance with a shunpo and grabbed his wrist, a soft squelching sounding out from the amount of blood on his skin. “You should not do that Shirosaki-san.”

Meanwhile the wolf born from her zanpakuto had picked up its master’s concern about the odd sound that was rumbling around, and the somewhat unique smell of the exhaust was picked up by the lupine’s keen noise. Bursting through another hollow it picked up the scent and began to follow with no hint of stealth in its large bounding steps, from rooftop to road and back again till it came across a... motorbike? It could realise what the strange (in its mind) devise was but still it seemed a bit... abnormal. The 5 foot tall wolf padded over to it, not looking around, carefully it sniffed over the handlebars, seat and finally the wheels, twisting its head this way and that in confusion before lifting a paw and gently tapping it, seeing if it would do anything.

After getting no response from the bike the giant silver and copper coloured wolf looked around, finally noticing the golden glow, padding over to the edge it saw the souse of the glow, jumping down to get a better view. The wolf caught up with the Quncy in its free fall, looking over him for a moment, its brass eye seemed to flash with a odd light as it relayed back what it had found to its master before speeding up its decent and landing on the ground below.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeTue Jun 16, 2009 10:00 pm

(Excuse the delay. I've been at a somewhat loss, as for the post.)

The rush was nothing short of familiar, nothing short of bliss. Air flowing upward past his body, gravity taking hold. Nirvana. That was the only word that could come close to describing it. Time seemed to slow, allowing the Quincy to take the moment in. But, it was interrupted. His closed eyes shot open, and the golden blade in his right hand flung to his flank. He caught himself, stopping the blade short of its intended target. The presence he felt wasn't that of a Hollow, just a wolf. Before that fact could sink in, the animal was gone, touching down on the concrete already. Just a wolf? Since when was that normal? Wolves didn't inhabit cities. At least, not to his knowledge. Either it was a Hollow in disguise, or it worked for the Shinigami who were helping him out. Of course, that was barring the concept that it was just lost.

Feet coming back into contact with asphalt, the knees bent, cushioning the impact. Any normal human would have surely broken their legs under such circumstances. Sometimes, being what he was, had a few perks. Standing, he broke into a run, not giving himself a second's rest. The wolf was still in the back of his mind, but he'd have to wait to deal with it, until the Hollow were gone. Running down the street, into an alleyway, he seemed to be traveling faster than his legs looked capable of carrying him. Were one to look closely, they would notice golden pulses beneath the soles of his shoes, acting almost alike to springs, flinging him further with one step than a simple run would have. Exiting the alley, one street over from where he'd landed, the masked man skidded to a halt, a crimson blast of energy on course with his body. Without even thinking, he rushed toward the oncoming Cero. Just before it struck, a shield of golden energy appeared before the intended target. The energy slammed into the barricade, splashing out, around the runner, and otherwise deflecting, and dispersing. The origin, the giant that had spat at him, was standing roughly a block down the street, behind a corporate building of some sort. Those golden pulses at his feet intensified, sending the Quincy airborne, flinging his golden weapon forward.

The blade made contact with the giant's mask, digging in, up to the silver hilt. The masked man vanished form the air, and was suddenly standing on the injured Hollow's face, grabbing hold of the buried weapon. More golden pulses, and he rocketed into the sky. On the ground below, there were two more of the cloaked beasts, standing on roughly opposite flanks to his position. Spiraling, and swinging his right arm, he flicked his wrist, chucking the blade at one. His momentum carried him another half circle, as the now empty hand locked into place at his left elbow. Fafnir's hissing grew louder, transforming into a shrill howl. Taking aim, the masked Quincy let the serpent loose its attack, a golden beam shooting forth from the fanged mouth. It slammed into the giant's face, tearing through, and continuing into the asphalt behind a cloud of spirit dust. The one who'd fired, the Quincy, was flying backward, climbing higher than he had been before the snake's canon let loose. Flipping backward a half rotation, golden pulses erupted at his feet, above him. This act sent him back downward, toward the street.

Correcting himself just before he became a red splatter on the asphalt, his feet touched down next to the golden weapon he'd flung at one of the Hollow. Wrapping his right hand around it, the masked rider removed it from the ground. Finally, after thinning out the Hollow based interference, he was able to lock onto the Shinigami positions. They weren't very far away. Dismissing the great serpent, the tail uncoiling, and shattering into a fine, golden dust, which he absorbed back into his arm, the Quincy thought it best to introduce himself. One of the Menos disproved, apparently, as a red Cero slammed into his side, carrying him through the air, and through the window of a hardware store.

The Quincy slowly picked himself up, off the littered, linoleum floor. His shirt was shredded, and there were a few shallow cuts. He'd have a few bruises and scabs, but no long term damage. How could he have let his guard down so easily, as to be ambushed by a Gillian? This did not sit well with him. Tearing off the shreds of what had once been a borderline expensive shirt, he revealed more of his true nature. Bone plating covered his ribs, and shoulder blades, much like the white mask over half of his face. No doubt, anyone who saw him, and knew of the Arrancar, would surely mistake him for one, or perhaps a Vaizard. Of course, then there would be the jumped to conclusion that he was the leader of this force. Maybe it was a better idea not to introduce himself to the Shinigami, for fear of being assumed the enemy.

Still there was an unanswered offense. The Quincy exited the building through the hole his body hand made. Bending down, he plucked a silver rectangle off the ground. He'd dropped it when his back hit the glass, allowing it to blend in with the rubble. It was the golden blade he'd wielded in moments prior. This giant didn't deserve such a painless death, though. Hooking the object on his clip, with the rest of his collection, he located the offender, three blocks down, standing in the middle of the street. A nearby streetlight started flickering, golden threads wrapping around its base. Crossing his arms, the Quincy tore the light from the ground, making sure that the end was broken, and jagged. Without so much as a flinch, he flung it at the giant who'd disgraced him. The candid javelin shattered the white mask, impaling the creature through the skull, sending it tumbling to the ground, and pinning it down. After a few seconds of thrashing, the cloaked giant stopped moving, and disintegrated. There was only a broken streetlight, buried into a cracked and broken street, now. He looked forward to hearing the police explain that one in the morning.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeThu Jun 18, 2009 11:57 pm

Ryuujin snapped his arm away from Toboe before turning his back on her, he looked at his blood covered arms, what was he about to do? He was not to sure himself, he just lost himself for a moment, an image flashed in his mind for just a moment, the mew of a large cat with golden fangs snarling ask blood dripped from its mouth, it made him shudder. He turned back to look at the other captain again, sighing to himself for a moment, “Sorry Toboe-san, I guess I just spaced out for a moment there but don’t worry I’m fine.” He turned his attention back to the city around him, a lot had fallen but there were still much more around, and that was not counting the numerous smaller hollows that where swarming about like scavengers around a lion kill, but the captain knew that with the larger Menos’ dead they would flee.

“We should have this area cleaned up soon Toboe-san.” He smiled as his eyes locked onto one of the white masked beasts, “when we can get into our fake bodies and maybe check out this town together.” He said before jumping off, battle lust starting to seep into his system. One of the giants turned to him, this was had a different mask, unlike the normal mask that every menos seemed to have this one was more like a crocodile, a sign that it was going to evolve into a higher form of hollow if given the chance.

Too bad it would never get it.

With a shunop followed by a quick up thrust he drove the twin bladed weapon up through its mew, pinning its mouth shut, it tried in vain to claw at its chin to free it mouth as Ryuujin stood on its snout. The Shinigami snarled as he pulled his hand back, clenching his hand into a fist before thrusting it through the bone mask, he ripped his fist back out before punching again, and again before its form became to destabilize and fall apart, he spined his leg around to kick the blade, sending it flying and finally embedding itself into another hollow, two down, ton more to go.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeFri Jun 19, 2009 2:55 pm

The wolf eared Shinigami seemed shocked when her fellow captain snatched his arm away from her like that, seemed quite out of character for him, then there was a sudden changed in his reaitsu, it was only for a split second but she was able to pick it up, that made her worry about him, maybe a more intense examination of his health was in order when this was dealt with. She did not know what to think when he then apologised, “Don’t worry Shirosaki-san,” she said to him, trying not to mumble too much, then there was that comment about what they would do after, was that a half hearted joke or did he really mean that? But anyway this was not the time or place for misplaced flirting.

As he left she found her own targets, a group of three that she could seem mulling around what appeared to be a small park, penned in by houses all around them it seemed they would have to crush buildings in order to move more freely, Toboe could not let that happen. Quickly making her way over to engage them her presence did not go unnoticed, one of the masked behemoths turning to her with a charging ball of red energy in its gaping jaws, the other two following its lead, so it would be three ceros vs the medic, one fired before the other two giving it a head start but Toboe was unfazed by this, “Hado #1: Sho!” she said as she wave her hand in front of her like she was brushing something out of the way, the Kido hit the leading cero in a way it defected it off to the right, making it collide with one of the following ceros, the two attack cancelling each other out with a explosion of red light and smoke.

The last still kept its track towards her, however the 4th division captain still had a trick to deal with it, holding out her left hand like she was commanding it to stop, “Bakudo #39 Enkosen.” At her command a yellow shield or reaitsu was summoned in front of her, the cero harmlessly colliding with it and not her, their attacks now dealt with it was her turn. Dropping to the ground on the edge of the park she already knew how she was going to take all three of them out in one attack, “Bakudo #81: Danku!” a large wall formed in front of her, completely transparent like glass, she then shunpo’ed to the other side of the group. To onlookers it would of seemed odd that she would make a shield then go out in front of it, but now the hollows where between her and the Kido formed wall and that is what she wanted, “Hado #63: Raikōhō!” yellow lighting shot from her hands, crashing towards the hollows like a wave, it tore through their bodies like it was nothing before crashing into the other Kido. The wall held up against her own attack and the three giants where vaporized by it, the wall shattered after the attack ended, Toboe standing there bereaving hard 4 Kidos in the space of a few seconds was not something she had to do in some time.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeTue Jun 23, 2009 9:11 pm

It seemed that the Shinigami were still hard at work, as the number of Hollow remaining was significantly low. Using Hinrekyaku, the masked rider was suddenly atop a rather tall building, taking count. There were roughly five of the giants left. There was a temptation to flee the scene, and let the Shimigami finish the job, but his better judgment said otherwise. Arming himself with another seele, he vanished, landing on the other side of a masked giant nearly two blocks away, his back toward it. In an instant, the beast's skull split in two, leaving existence. The remaining four were much further away. Hopefully one of the Shinigami was closer than he was, and thought enough to take care of them.

As fortune would have it, one of the Shinigami was nearby. Deciding against himself again, he thought it better to introduce himself, and offer his gratitude. If they attacked him under the accusation that he was one of them, then he'd deal with that. After all, he was used to that by now. The way he looked definitely lent itself to such quite easily. Vanishing from the rooftop, the masked figure landed near the closest Shinigami, roughly twenty meters away. He began walking, dismissing his golden blade, and putting the silver rectangle that remained back in its place. The one he'd found was male, it seemed, and had horns. This struck him as unusual, but he'd seen stranger. Placing his left hand outward as he closed in, he hoped that it would signify that he was of no harm.

"Good evening," he began, lips moving invisibly behind his white Maske, "I am Artemis Davidson. If you and your partner hadn't come out here, this city would undoubtedly be in ruins by now. I came over here to offer my thanks to you."

(Forgive the short post.)

(np, feel like i hit a block with mine.)

Ryuujin span around so fast it would of caused whiplash in a human, one of the red crimson blades pointed at the neck of the stranger, the shinigami’s dark eyes narrowed on him, by look he seemed like an arrancar, or even a vizard but his reatsu had no sign of hollow energy. “Sorry,” he muttered, removing the blade from his neck, “My name is Ryuujin Shirosaki, captain of the 5th Division.” He glanced over to the few remaining hollows, only four now, he knew that Toboe could handle them by herself, seeing as one of him main tacks was to ‘mingle’ with as many friendly as he could, his zanpakuto glowed red again as he sheathed the blade into its house that hung on his back.

“did you notice anything... strange before the hollows arrive? Or was it quite sudden?” he asked, knowing that Shin-sama would like a full report of this when they get back, maybe this... human? Could shed some light on what happened here, maybe this night would end out a bit more peaceful then as it started.

Short Streets and Blurred Lights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Short Streets and Blurred Lights   Short Streets and Blurred Lights Icon_minitimeSat Jun 27, 2009 12:41 pm

Toboe took stock on what was left, only four left and the smaller ones where already wising up and leaving, knowing that the food in this area was not worth getting killed. The large copper and silver coloured wolf padded up behind Toboe, the beast as tall from paw to shoulder as she was, the wolf zanpakuto followed her gaze to the Menos who refused to see resin and just go, the wolf opened its jaws to yawn before shaking its body and making some strange wining sound followed by a yip, “I agree, but we can easily take them out,” she looked to some of the telephone and power lines hanging overhead some of them where damaged from the fighting between hollow and Shinigami, “fetch!” she commanded the wolf.

The wolf jumped up onto one of the wooden polls that suspended the cables far from the ground, sparks flew as it bit down, hopefully no one would note the small power out at this time of night, biting through the cable it pulled hard ranching a great length from its overhead housing, the wolf knew what his master was planning and tried to get as much as he could get before returning the end to the 4th captain. “good, this should be enough, you know what to do.” The wolf nodded its head, the act seeming strange for it before it ran off to find the other end of the metal cable.

Picking up the other end the large wolf ran around the menos, dodging the feet as it make sure they where tangled up in some way, looped around an leg here, a wrist there till all four where touching the cable. Letting go it let out a howl to signal this, not that it was really needed, “Hado #11, Tsuzuri Raiden.” Electricity sparked around her hand before shooting up the metal cable, encasing it in yellow lighting, everything touching it getting a strong jolt. The remaining Menos writhed in pain as the lighting coursed through their bodies, destroying them.

Toboe sighed as she dropped the cable, brushing her hands together as the wolf came back, “Well be better find the boys.”
