Shikai: The sword remains the same, however a large cloud of diamond dust can be seen around him.

Shikai Ability: Shin can manipulate the diamond dust to form solid diamonds, which can be used to block attacks, or could be formed into sharpened spike like diamonds which can be used to attack.

Bankai: At the utterance of “Bankai” a large amount of diamond dust forms around Shin, incasing him in an extremely large diamond, which soon shatters and covers the battlefield making it appear as if it is raining.

Bankai Ability: The dust can be controlled just as it could in shikai, however with a much greater effect.


Techniques:

Diamond lance (Bankai) – Shin can form the dust into the shape of a lance that spirals around his sword, then by thrusting his sword forward can launch the lance towards his opponents. The lance itself spins at a high speed and is extreamly sharp, so it has an extremely high odds of piercing whatever it hits.
Shards of heaven (Shikai) – Shin can force the dust to form several hundred sharp shards of diamond around his opponent in every direction, before making them fly towards them at a fast speed.
Shards of hell (Bankai) – Shin uses the immense amount of diamond dust gained from bankai in order to create 7 extremely large, sharp diamonds to form above his opponent before slamming them down.

it's a singular attack. It only lasts long enough to strike, if it fails to strike it just fades back into dust. It's not like byakuyas pedal thing where they are controlled, they just surround strike and that's it.
